A huge part of our early learning in Rm 2 is the recognition of graphemes (letters) and their associated phoneme (sound). We use Yolanda Soryl's Phonics as the basis of our programme. For the first 14 weeks, we focus on 'Stage 2' to ensure knowledge is embedded. From there, children are extended as needed.

Its interesting to see how the kids learn by associating similar sounding words. Levi is really enjoying playing eye-spy at the moment and this is no doubt where that originates from.
